Where can you find me?

I am found in earths crust and can also be found in seawater. I can be found in various Chemical forms.

How was I discovered?

I was actually “discovered” twice! In 1825 Carl Jacob Löwig extracted me from a mineral water spring by saturating mineral salt with chlorine. Then in 1826, Antoine Balard discovered me while I was hiding in seaweed in a salt marsh.

What am I used for?
I can be used for many different things. One of my most important things is water purification. I have to ability to disinfect water in pools and hot-tubs. Also, I help in the manufacturing of many different pharmaceuticals.

Daily Blog-

• Monday- Today me and Aluminum had to be paired up for an experiment in Chem class. Why would the teacher plan this even though he knows we are enemies!!!!!!

• Tuesday- I went out to eat and I ordered steak. Right when I put the steak in my mouth the salt started to fizz and it hurt!
• Wednesday- Today some creepy scientists put drops of me into some pool water purification solution. I was put into the pool and I did a number on the algae that was trying to grow!
• Thursday- Today Oxygen and I hung out, we get along really well and have a lot of fun together.
• Friday- Finally today is Friday!!! I'm going to a night club tonight with Oxygen, I just hope Aluminum or Iron isn't there!
• Saturday- Even though potassium is does not have many enemies(not very reactive), she just rubbed me the wrong way and I had to take her outer shell away. Everyone got mad at me and I'm just not sure what to do now :(
